Twenty-five Atlas Fireworks Shows Highlight 2010 Home Schedule

Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, today announced their home schedule at Merchantsauto.com Stadium for the 2010 season, highlighted by 25 Atlas Fireworks Shows. Opening Day is scheduled for Thursday, April 15, at 6:35pm when the Fisher Cats host the Binghamton Mets, Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets, in the first of 71 home games.

"It's always exciting for both our staff and our fans to get a look at the schedule for the new season," said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. "Now that we're able to mark the dates in our calendar, we'll get busy planning ways to make 2010 a fun-filled season for everyone involved."

The Fisher Cats will take on the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, 11 times in Manchester, with the first series between the two Northern Division rivals scheduled for Thursday, May 13-Sunday, May 16. New Hampshire will also face Binghamton 11 times and the New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins) 11 times, while the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees) visits Merchantsauto.com Stadium 10 times. The new franchise in Richmond, VA, will play three games in Manchester. The Eastern League announced earlier today that the Connecticut Defenders, the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, will be relocating to Richmond in 2010.

In the Southern Division, the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) will play seven games in New Hampshire, and the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) will be pitted against the Fisher Cats six times at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. The defending league champion Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians), Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates), Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) and Erie SeaWolves (Detroit Tigers) will each play one three-game series in the Granite State.

New in 2010, the Fisher Cats will play Saturday and Sunday games at 1:35pm in April and early May, shifting Saturday games to the traditional 7:05pm start times beginning on May 15. Weeknight start times will be 6:35pm until May 13, when they become 7:05pm games. The final home series of the season, August 30-September 2, will see the home weeknight times return to the 6:35pm time slot.

Among the exceptions, the Fisher Cats will play a 6:05pm game against Trenton on Sunday, May 30, and a 1:35pm game against the Thunder on Memorial Day (Monday, May 31). There will also be two Educational Day 11:05am morning games against the Thunder on Wednesday, April 21, and Thursday, May 20. On Sunday, July 4, New Hampshire will host New Britain at 6:35pm, followed by Fourth of July Fireworks. Camp Days are scheduled for 12:05pm on Wednesday, July 28, vs Harrisburg and Wednesday, August 4, vs Richmond.
