St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN - One night after the St. Paul Saints slugged four homers and beat the Lincoln Saltdogs by eight, the Saltdogs returned the favor hitting five homers as the Saints lost 15-1 on Saturday night at Midway Stadium in front of 5,428.
With the Saltdogs up 2-0 in the third the home run barrage began. Juan Richardson led off with a single and Argelis Nunez followed with a two-run homer to left, his 20th of the season and second in as many nights to make it 4-0.
In the fifth Roberto Alvarez drilled a solo shot to center, his fifth of the season to make it 5-0.
In the sixth the Saltdogs made it 7-0 as Albenis Machado walked and Pat Trettel hit his seventh homer of the season.
After about an hour rain delay the game resumed in the bottom of the sixth and the Saltdogs didn't cool down. In the seventh Nunez singled and advanced to third on a double by Juan Camacho. Roberto Alvarez' fielder's choice ground out made it 8-0. Brandon Jones followed with a two-run homer to center, his 10th of the season, making it 10-0.
The final homer of the night for the Saltdogs was a solo homer in the eighth by Juan Richardson, his 12th of the season.
The Saints only run came in the ninth when Brandon Carter walked and Josh Alley doubled him home.
