Tulsa Takes Down Wind Surge

Wichita Wind Surge News Release
WICHITA, KS - The Tulsa Drillers jumped on the Wind Surge early scoring five first inning runs and defeated Wichita for the third consecutive game 8-1 on Saturday.
Tulsa loaded the bases with a pair of hits and a walk and Imanol Vargas hammered a grand-slam four batters into the game and then Eddys Leonard followed with a solo home run to extend the lead to 5-0.
Emmet Sheehan faced the minimum for the first 14 hitters and pitched five and a third innings allowing one run on three hits and earned his fourth win of the season.
The Wind Surge scored their lone run in the sixth with a single from Alerick Soulaire and a two out RBI single from Brooks Lee.
The Drillers have won four of the first five games in the series.
First place Tulsa improved to the league best 34-16 record and Wichita will fall to 12 and a half games back with a record of 21-28.
NOTES: The Drillers lead the 2023 Coors Light Propeller Series eight games to three.
