Amarillo, TX 3/10/10 - Two goals from David Nimmo weren't enough Wednesday afternoon, as the Tulsa Oilers slipped past the Amarillo Gorillas 4-3.

Tulsa scored the game's first two goals, when forward Jake Riddle capitalized on goaltender Mike Brown's turnover behind his own net at the 12:34 mark. Former Gorillas defenseman Tyler Butler piled on with a slap shot marker 5:13 later. Amarillo took advantage of their only power-play of the period, when David Nimmo scored his 25th on the year after he accepted a feed from Anthony Battaglia in front of the Tulsa goal. At the end of one, Tulsa 2 Amarillo 1.

Netminder Mike Brown was the star of the second period, as he stopped 22 of 23 Tulsa shots on goal. Tulsa had the 3-1 lead until the 14:30 mark before Anthony Battaglia found David Nimmo in the high slot for his second of the game. Second intermission, Tulsa 3 Amarillo 2.

Tulsa made it a two-goal margin at the 7:58 mark when Adam Bartholomay rocketed his shot high glove on Mike Brown who totaled 46 saves on 50 shots in the tilt. Anthony Battaglia made the contest interesting less than two minutes left in the third with an extra attack tally. The Gorillas were denied a 6 on 4 opportunity with seven seconds to go in regulation and fell 4-3.

Friday, March 12th is "Throwback Night" at the Amarillo Civic Center! The Gorillas will wear classic "Amarillo Wranglers" jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. The first 500 fans will receive rally towels courtesy of H&H Print Wear & UniFirst. Puck drops at 7pm CST and show tickets are only $10 each.
