Parsons Guests On RiverKings Radio Show Tonight

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- One of the most prolific goal scorers in minor professional hockey will be among the guests tonight on Bob Bakken's RiverKings Report, heard on KQPN-AM 730 Fox Sports Radio.

Don Parsons, who will have his number 13 RiverKings jersey retired in a pre-game ceremony prior to Saturday's game between the RiverKings and Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, is scheduled to be one of the guests on the program, aired from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

Parsons netted a record 290 goals and 552 points in his RiverKings career between 2000-2006, He went on to total a minor professional hockey record 682 goals and 1308 points in his career, that ended last season with the Bloomington (IL) Prairie Thunder of the International Hockey League.

The 682 goals also set a record for most goals scored by an American-born player at all professional levels.

This week's program will also include appearances by RiverKings coach Kevin "Killer" Kaminski and forward Elias Godoy, whose two goals Sunday helped propel a five-goal outburst that beat Missouri 5-1 in suburban Kansas City.

Mississippi is getting ready for a two-game home stand this weekend against the Texas Brahmas Friday night and Bossier-Shreveport Saturday night.
