Killer Bees Activate Bennefield

HIDALGO, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League (CHL) today announced that the team has activated forward Jesse Bennefield from the injured reserve list and has waived forward Justin Kanigan.

Bennefield is second in team scoring (24-32-56 in 48 games) despite missing the last 10 games on the injured reserve list. The 28-year-old Calgary native last played on Feb. 14 at Laredo. He is 14th in CHL scoring and tied for 12th in CHL goals.

Kanigan, a 27-year-old rookie, appeared in eight games and had one goal and 10 penalty minutes.

The Killer Bees host the Arizona Sundogs on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the annual kid's day game and Laredo on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. The team visits Corpus Christi on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
