RiverKings In The Mid-South Update

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Your Mississippi RiverKings are being well represented off the ice as well as on the ice in the course of the next couple of weeks. Here's a quick review of some of the events you can find your favorite RiverKings in the Mid-South area over the next several days.

RiverKings' mascots RiverThing and Sheldon will be in attendance on Friday, March 12th during a "Read Across America" event at the Collierville Elementary School in Collierville. The celebration at the school will begin at 9:30 AM.

While in the Mid-South for the jersey retirement ceremony of his RiverKings jersey number 13 this weekend, former RiverKings forward Don Parsons will visit the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf at 7901 Poplar Avenue in Germantown, beginning at 10:30 AM.

Parsons will also be available to sign autographs during Saturday night's game and will also appear for the Post-Game Party at the Southaven TGI Friday's restaurant on Goodman Road in Southaven after the game to greet fans and sign autographs.

RiverKings players and mascots will be on hand for the RiverKings Kids' Club Party on Sunday, March 14th at the Jellystone Park RV Park, 1400 Audubon Point Drive off U.S. Highway 51 in Horn Lake, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM.

RiverKings players will also be on hand to greet fans and sign autographs from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 18th at Windy City Grille, located at 330 West Commerce Street in Hernando.

Forward Matt Summers will make an appearance at a Parent Support Group meeting to talk about the Assists for Autism program at Pleasant Hill Elementary School in Olive Branch on Thursday evening, March 25th at 6:30 PM. The appearance will be in the school library, located at 7686 Pleasant Hill Road, north of Goodman Road. Summers' appearance will be dependent on his availability due to the potential playoff schedule.

You'll also find RiverKings mascots supporting the Make-a-Splash Mid-South Diversity meeting on Saturday, March 27th at 9:00 AM. The location is at 920 Echles Street in Memphis.

Mississippi continues its run toward the CHL playoffs with a pair of home games this weekend, Friday against Texas and Saturday against Bossier-Shreveport. On Saturday night, all-time scoring leader Don Parsons' number 13 jersey will be retired during a pre-game ceremony.
