Jorge Reyes pitched 6.1 innings in the first game Sunday at Kino Stadium, allowing three runs and picking up the win. The Rainiers loaded the bases in the top of the seventh when Erik Hamren came in to record the final two outs of the game for his ninth save. Daniel Robertson went 3-for-4 and Blake Tekotte went 1-for-3 with a two-run single.

Game 2 - Sunday

Sawyer Carroll hit an RBI single in the second inning and Jedd Gyorko hit a long, solo home run in the fourth as the Padres beat the Tacoma Rainiers, 2-0 in the second game. Four Tucson pitchers combined for a three-hit shutout, the club's fifth shutout of the season. Josh Spence made his first start in two years and tossed three scoreless innings. Neil Wagner didn't allow any hits in 1.2 scoreless frames. Nick Vincent pitched one inning and Cory Burns threw the final 1.1 innings for his third save.

The Padres are now 5-1 in doubleheader games in 2012. Tucson and Tacoma are in the midst of a stretch where they play each other nine times in eight days and the Padres have won four of the seven games so far.
