New York Boulders News Release

Three Windy City pitchers combined to twirl an eight-hit shutout as the host ThunderBolts blanked the New York Boulders, 3-0, on Friday night at Ozinga Field in Crestwood, IL.

Windy City broke on top 1-0 in the first inning on an RBI double by Bren Spillane. The ThunderBolts made it 2-0 in the fifth on a run-scoring triple by Brynn Martinez and then made it 3-0 on an RBI double off the bat of Dan Robinson in the sixth.

Bryan Ketchie started for the ThunderBolts and went six shutout innings, walking two, striking out six and allowing four hits in picking up his first win of the decision against no losses. He was followed on the hill by Neil Abbatiello, who pitched scoreless seventh and eighth innings, allowing two hits and striking out two.

Brayden Bonner allowed a Gerson Molina single and a double by Chris Kwitzer to open the ninth inning, but then retired the ensuing three batters to close out the victory for Windy City and pick up his first save of the season.

Willie Rios started and took the loss for the Boulders. The lefthander went 5 1/3 innings, surrendered six hits and three runs, while walking three and striking out one as he fell to 0-1 on the year.

Al Reda had two of New York's eight hits in the loss.
