Trio of 2014 Draft Picks Commit to IceDogs

Niagara IceDogs general manager and head coach Marty Williamson is pleased to announce the commitment of three 2014 draft picks.

Jack Wieringa, Jonathon Schaefer and Evan Krassey have all agreed to standard OHL player agreements.

Wieringa is a defenceman out of Huron Perth Lakers Minor Midget, taken in the fourth round of the OHL Priority Selection Draft by the IceDogs. He put up eight points in 31 games for the Lakers last season.

Schaefer was selected in the sixth round by the IceDogs, out of Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Minor Midget. The quick defenceman put up 23 points in 40 games for the Bulldogs last season. He also played for Team OMHA Black in the OHL Gold Cup this summer, recording one assist.

Krassey, an eighth round pick of the IceDogs, put up 51 points in 53 games for the Thunder Bay Kings Minor Midget last season. The 6'2, 194 lbs forward also participated in the OHL Gold Cup for Team HNO.
