South Carolina Stingrays News Release

The South Carolina Stingrays front office staff took time off this month to serve lunch at Tricounty Family Ministries in Charleston. The team served a delicious chicken lunch complete with salad and dessert to over 250 people and delivered groceries.

Tricounty Family Ministries is a faith based organization that provides food, clothing, medical care, counseling, transportation, shelter and financial assistance to the less fortunate and others in need in the Charleston area. For more information on how you can donate or get involved call Tricounty Family Ministries at (843) 747-1788.

Stingrays players recently traveled to Goodwin Elementary School to spend time with children of the Boys and Girls Club of Charleston. The players assisted with the students' reading assignments and homework. After all the work was completed the children challenged the players to a game of dodge ball on the playground. Click here to see the game.

The Boys and Girls Club of the Trident Area provide summer day camps and after school programs to those children that come from difficult circumstances. The goal of The Boys and Girls Club is to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential and soar beyond their circumstances. The ages of the children in the club range from six to eight years old. Contact the Boys and Girls Club at (843) 937-6490 for more information on how you can help.

The entire Stingrays team traveled to Summerville to bring holiday cheer to the boys of Eagle Harbor Boys Ranch. The Stingrays played video games and Pictionary, baked holiday cookies, strung popcorn and cranberries and competed in a friendly game of football outside.

Eagle Harbor Boys Ranch is a home for boys that have been taken out of their homes because of some sort of abuse or neglect. There are typically around 16 boys living at the ranch at any given time. The boys live at the ranch full time grouped together in houses with house parents who also volunteer.

The ranch is a place where the boys can live a normal live and become adjusted to society in a relaxed and structured setting. They go to school and church and also have access to horses, zip lines, basketball, arts and crafts, video games and anything else you would imagine a young boy may want. If you would like to visit the Boys at Eagle Harbor like the Stingrays did please contact Liz or Danny Gilbert at (843) 688-5995.
