Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Condors are riding high, especially on home ice, where they have won a team record 10 straight games. They'll go for 11 in a row and look to increase their first-place lead on Saturday, when they host the Stockton Thunder on Hockey Stick and Puck Set Giveaway at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The Hockey Stick and Puck Set Giveaway, presented by KGET-TV 17, HOT 94.1 and Carl's Jr., has become a fan favorite over the years, especially with the youngsters of Condorstown. The first 2,000 fans 12 and under receive a street hockey set, including two plastic sticks and a plastic puck. Use it in the driveway or in front of your house, but of course, be alert of cars and pedestrians when in use. Plus, Saturday also marks Canadian Boxing Day Celebration--put to good use items that are no longer wanted following the Holidays. The Condors are celebrating Boxing Day by asking fans to box up their unwanted goods and bring them to the game, where they will then be donated to Goodwill Industries. During the second intermission, two lucky kids will have the opportunity to come down to the ice and blare over the PA "How 'bout them Condors!"
Following every game, Condors players will be at the Bakersfield Marriott Autograph Booth, located on the arena concourse behind section 108. C Gino Guyer and D Eric Regan will be at the booth on Saturday. The players will arrive at the booth approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the game to meet fans and sign autographs.
All Condors games can be heard live on ESPN 1230, or through live streaming on B2 Networks and www.bakersfieldcondors.com. Log on to www.espnbakersfield.com or www.bakersfieldcondors.com to listen from the drop of the puck. Saturday's game will be televised live on Bright House Networks Ch. 21. All BHN games are available starting the following day on Ch. 300, Bakersfield On Demand, and will be posted until the end of the season.
