Omaha Lancers News Release
OMAHA NE- The Omaha Lancers were back in action Friday night (2/9) at Liberty First Credit Union Arena where they would take on the Tri City Storm for the first time this season on home ice.
The first period would have both teams playing sharp early on.
However, Tri-City would get on the board first as forward Blake Steenerson would send a knuckler on net before the puck would eventually float over the glove of Lucas Szyszka to give the Storm a 1-0 lead.
Despite the Lancers continuing to play a quality first period, they would be unable to find the back of the net; helping Tri-City hold a 1-0 lead going into the second period of play.
The second period would have Tri-City break through offensively.
Forward Zach Bade would get on the board for the Storm; extending Tri-City's lead at 2-0.
Shortly thereafter, forward A.J. Lacroix would get the power-play marker to stretch the Storm's lead at 3-0.
Tri-City forward Cameron Briere would also score for the Storm to make it 4-0.
Forward Zach Bade would get on the board once more before dropping the gloves with Lancer forward Ethan Fredericks later on in the period.
The Lancers would head into the locker room down 5-0.
The third period would have just one goal, as it would belong to the Storm's Cameron Briere to help cap off a 6-0 Tri-City victory. The Lancers are back on the road tomorrow night (12/10) in Kearney to take on the very same Tri-City club. Puck drop is at 6:05 PM CST. You can catch the game on Mixlr or FloSports.
