
Trey Martin Named NWL Player of the Week

BOISE, Idaho - Boise Hawks outfielder Trey Martin was honored today as Northwest League Player of the Week, announced the morning by Minor League Baseball Advanced Media.
The native of Snellville, Ga., hit .545 for the Hawks from July 9-15, hitting two home runs and driving in seven. Martin hit safely in all six games during the stretch, including four multi-hit games, while recording a career-high four RBI in the Hawks 9-3 win on Saturday night. He added a triple, four runs scored, and a pair of stolen bases.
It marks the first time since Ryan Cuneo earned the award on Aug. 23, 2011, that a Boise player had earned the award.
Tri-City pitcher, Shane Broyles, was honored as Pitcher of the Week.
The Hawks open up a three-game series tonight at Memorial Stadium against the East Division leading Yakima Bears. First-pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
