(Bowie, MD)- Bowie LHP Troy Patton pitched six shutout innings to lead Bowie past Trenton 6-0 in the first game of a double-header on Thursday afternoon from Prince George's Stadium in Bowie, MD. Bowie scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to slip past Trenton 4-3 in the second game of the double-header for the sweep.

In the first game of the double-header, Bowie scored two runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. Designated hitter Paco Figueroa had an RBI double and Third baseman Melvin Dorta connected on an RBI single off of Thunder Starting Pitcher Ryan Pope (1-2). Bowie added four runs in the fourth inning off of Pope. Dorta hit a solo home run to increase the lead to 3-0. With two outs in the frame, Shortstop Robert Valido belted a three-run home run to increase the lead to 6-0. Pope took the loss as he allowed eight hits and six runs in four innings. Patton scattered two hits and struck out six. He walked only one. Thunder Reliever Kevin Whelan pitched two shutout innings in relief of Pope.

In the second game, Trenton broke a 1-1 tied with two runs in the fourth inning. Center fielder Seth Fortenberry drove in a run with a sacrifice fly RBI to make it 2-1. Trenton (11-13) added to the lead with an RBI double by Catcher Jose Gil to stretch the lead to 3-1. Gil had two hits in the loss for the Thunder, and is 4 x 5 on the season. The Thunder took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI double by Second baseman Reegie Corona.

Bowie tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth inning on a two-run home run by First baseman Brandon Snyder off of Trenton Starting Pitcher Alan Horne. The Baysox would take lead later in the sixth inning off of Thunder Reliever Amaury Sanit (0-1). Bowie Pinch Hitter Jonathan Tucker drove in the go-ahead run on an RBI groundout to put the BaySox on top 4-3. With the tying run on first base and two outs in the seventh, Bowie Reliever Josh Perrault struck out Trenton First baseman Jorge Vazquez to pick up save.

Horne went five-plus solid innings in his second start of the season. He yielded only four hits and three runs. He struck out three and walked four. Bowie Starting Pitcher Bobby Livingston went six innings and allowed eight hits and three runs to take the loss.

Trenton returns to Waterfront Park on Friday night to start a series against the Binghamton Mets (Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets). Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. Trenton's Starting Pitcher on Friday is TBD. RHP Dylan Owen (0-2, 6.66) will start for Binghamton.
