ALTOONA, PA - The Altoona Curve dropped Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Akron Aeros 5-1 at Blair County Ballpark.
Akron starter Hector Rondon (5-0) silenced the Curve bats tossing 6.1 innings allowing one run on three hits for his fifth win of the season.
Akron got on the board in the first inning on an RBI double by Carlos Santana. The Aeros would manufacture another run in the third to take a 2-0 lead and then added two more runs in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly and a wild pitch.
Altoona scored its only run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Steve Lerud
Curve starter Jared Hughes (0-4) gets the loss after throwing four innings and giving up two runs on five hits.
