North Little Rock, AR - The Arkansas Travelers walked off for the seventh time this season with a 2-1 victory over the Midland RockHounds in 10 innings on Wednesday at Dickey-Stephens Park.

With one out in the 10th inning, LF Blake Gailen, who came into the game in the top of the frame after 1B Wade Hinkle was injured in a collision with LHP Greg Mahle (BS, W, 1-0), fouled off three pitches before lining a triple to deep left-center field. With the infield in and still one out, DH Michael Snyder drove a ball out to center field, deep enough for a game-ending sacrifice fly.

Travs starter RHP Kyle McGowin did not surrender a hit until the seventh inning when 1B Renato Nunez led off the frame with a solo home run to cut the Arkansas lead to 2-1. McGowin pitched 7.2 innings, the longest start for any Arkansas pitcher this season, and struck out seven with just the one hit allowed.

The RockHounds tied the game off Mahle in the ninth after RF Matt Angle lined a double to left and scored on a DH Chad Pinder RBI single. Angle entered the game in the fourth after right fielder Josh Whitaker left with a leg injury.

Arkansas had an opportunity to end the game in the bottom of the ninth with runners on second and third with one out, but RHP Tucker Healey struck out SS Eric Stamets and LF/3B Drew Maggi to end the threat.

The Travs scored both of its regulation runs in the first inning. 2B Sherman Johnson started the game with a triple down the right field line and scored on a Maggi RBI groundout. Hinkle then blasted an opposite field home run down the left field line to make it 2-0. The home run for Hinkle was his team-leading seventh of the season.

RHP Eduard Santos pitched the final out of the eighth to extend his scoreless streak to 15 consecutive innings. He has also not allowed a hit in 11.2 straight frames.

RF D'Arby Myers went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.

With the win, Arkansas improved to 6-7 in the second half and 42-40 overall. The Travs and RochHounds will play the middle game of the series on Thursday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. RHP Chris Ellis (3-0, 3.42) will face RHP Chris Jensen (5-8, 5.64) with first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
