North Little Rock, AR-After his team jumped to an early lead, Anthony Misiewicz worked through five innings, at one point retiring 10 consecutive Cardinal batters, as the Arkansas Travelers topped Springfield, 5-3 in a rain-shortened seven inning game. The game was put into a delay in the top of the seventh inning with two out and was called some 55 minutes later, just before heavy rain fell on the ballpark. Arkansas scored twice in each of the first two innings with Eric Filia driving in a run in both frames. The victory is the Travs eighth straight over the Cardinals and pushes them back to six games over .500 for the season, matching their best mark of the year.
Moments That Mattered
* After two walks began the bottom of the first, Eric Filia's bouncer up the middle scored the game's opening run.
* Springfield tied it in the top of the second but the Travs responded with two more runs of their own on consecutive RBI hits from Eric Filia and Joey Curletta.
* Lane Thomas homered in the top of the sixth but the Travs again answered, this time with Chuck Taylor knocking in Beau Amaral who had doubled.
