Travs RHP Von Stertzbach saved both games (8) with one inning pitched total. It is the second time that Stertzbach has saved two games in one day. The Travs are now 6-0 in doubleheader games.

GAME ONE

Frisco jumped ahead of Shell in the first inning as Drew Meyer doubled and scored on a two-out single by Seth Taylor.

Shell would go on to throw five straight scoreless innings and left just three hitters on base during that stretch.

Arkansas SS Erick Aybar laced a one-out triple to right field in the third inning and scored when 2B Alberto Callaspo grounded out to tie the game at 1-1.

Leading off the fourth inning, Mike Napoli drew a walk off Rupe and went to second base on a bounce out. Chris Morris gave the Travs a 2-1 lead with a sfot single to center field.

Aybar began the fifth inning with a single to right followed by a single to left by Callaspo. Then Rupe balked the runners up one base before Napoli beat a chopper towards shortstop that bounced out of SS Joaquin Arias's glove for an RBI infield single. Gates drew a walk to load the bases and Mike Eylward followed with a two-run single to left for a 5-1 lead.

With one out in the sixth inning, Aybar walked and scored when Tommy Murphy sent a line drive to left-center for his league leading 6th triple and a 6-1 lead.

Shell couldn't make it through the 7th inning and allowed two hits and a walk before leaving with one out. LHP Jonathon Rouwenhorst allowed an RBI single to Yan to cut the lead to 6-2. However Stertzbach whiffed Jason Hart to end the game with the bases loaded.

GAME TWO

Olenberger dueled with Frisco RHP Shane Bazzell for five scoreless innings. Frisco came the closest to scoring in those five frames in the second inning. Taylor led off with a single, then after an out Aybar booted a double play grounder allowing Taylor to get to third base. Jace Brewer then flied out to right field and Murphy pegged Taylor at the place.

Frisco brought in RHP Steve Karsay (0-1) to pitch the sixth inning, and Callaspo greeted him with a single and a steal of second base. With one out, Napoli bounced to Taylor at third base, but Taylor threw wide of first base allowing Callaspo to score the winning run.

Leading off the top of the seventh inning, Morris tripled to left center field and scored on a wild pitch by RHP Scott Feldman.

The RoughRiders got the tying runs on base in the seventh inning against RHP Matt Wilhite. Stertzbach stranded those runners with a flyout and a strikeout for his second save of the night.

Time of the first game was 2:16, while the second game lasted 2:08. The paid attendance was 7,677.

The fourth game of this five-game series is set for Wednesday night. The Travs have LHP Joe Saunders (4-2, 3.93 ERA) going against Frisco LHP John Danks (3-3, 2.50 ERA at Bakersfield) in his Class AA debut. First pitch will be thrown at 7:05 p.m.
