Travs Commit Three Errors in Sloppy Finale

North Little Rock, AR - The Arkansas Travelers dropped the series finale to Springfield Cardinals 10-2 on Sunday afternoon at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Springfield utilized four separate multi-run innings to jump out to the commanding lead in a game that saw the Travs commit three errors and a passed ball on a strikeout.

Arkansas finished just 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. The Cardinals capitalized on opportunities and went 6-for-15 with men in scoring position.

A night after striking out 13 Travs and not issuing a single walk, Springfield pitchers registered 12 strikeouts with three walks.

Arkansas CF Bo Way finished 3-for-5 with a run scored and LF Chad Hinshaw went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base.

The Travs, who entered the game with the best fielding percentage in the Texas League, surrendered six unearned runs in the game.

RHP Mike Mayers (W, 2-1) picked up the victory with five innings of work. The righty allowed two runs on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts.

The Cardinals 'pen worked four scoreless innings after Mayers and surrendered just one hit with eight strikeouts.

Four Cardinals produced multi-hit games, with C Carson Kelly finishing 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

With the loss, Arkansas split the four-game series and fell to 7-9 on the season. The Travs will begin an eight-game road trip on Monday with four in Tulsa followed by four in Springfield.
