Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release

Lethbridge, AB - It was a fast paced and hard fought game at the ENMAX Centre as Team Boychuk tallied a 6-4 victory over Team Wright to claim the Hurricanes 2008 Training Camp Rookie All Star game. The team coached by Hurricanes veterans Zach Boychuk and Carter Bancks was led by goal scorers Ryon Moser (2), Reed Linaker, Matt Kinnunen, Neil Tarnasky and 15 year old Shane Brolly. B.C. product Matt Wilkens, Jordie Martinook, Aaron Elaschuk and local product Mark Reners each tallied for Team Wright, coached by Hurricanes 2007-2008 Captain Ben Wright and veteran forward Dwight King.

The tight competition for roster spots was illustrated as the Canes postponed their first cuts from this year's camp from this evening until after the annual Blue and White intrasquad game tomorrow. Both team's rosters will remain relatively the same with some Canes veterans being added on both sides of the puck.

"With the level of the camp over the past three days and the competitiveness that we've had right up until tonight's all-star game we have decided that everyone will remain in camp and everyone will be given another shot in Sunday's Blue and White Game with three veterans being added to each team's lineup from tonight." said Canes Director of Scouting and Player Personnel Brad Robson adding "I think we see bright futures for a vast majority of the players and I think this really speaks to the strength of our camp, it's a smaller group and I think that every player we have here has a future possibly with the Hurricanes maybe not this year but, maybe even two or three years down the road."

Game time for the Annual Blue and White game is set for 11:00 AM Sunday morning at the ENMAX Centre, don't miss this opportunity to see the current and future Lethbridge Hurricanes as they battle for a spot on this year's squad.
