CJ Stretch scored twice - including the shorthanded game winner :07 into the third period - and added an assist to pace the offense, while Jon Groenheyde made 40 saves to backstop the defense as the Blazers rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Giants 4-2 in front of 900 fans on Saturday night at ISC.
Casey Pierro-Zabotel staked the Giants to a 1-0 lead at 15:41 of the first period before Tyler Shattock - who also had 2 assists - tied the game at 17:02 and Stretch put the Blazers up 2-1 at 19:57. Mitch Czibere picked up a goal at 7:22 of the second - sending the teams to their dressing rooms tied 2-2 after two - setting the stage for Stretch's game winner. Brendan Ranford closed out the scoring with 3:50 to play.
The Blazers were 0-for-5 on the PP while the Giants were 0-for-9.
Kraymer Barnstable - on in relief of Jamie Tucker - took the loss for the Giants. Final shots were 42-22 in favour of Vancouver.
The Blazers' next game is Friday night at home against the Chilliwack Bruins.
