
Giants Claim Weekend Series Opener 4-1

James Wright's second-period powerplay goal broke a 1-1 tie and helped pushed the Vancouver Giants to a 4-1 exhibition victory over the Blazers on Friday night in Ladner.
Chris Cloud staked the Giants to a 1-0 lead with an early first period tally before Alex Rodgers deflected a Nick Ross point shot through the legs of Tyson Sexsmith early in the middle period to tie the game at one. Lane Scheidl put the Giants up 3-1 after two before Craig Schira closed the scoring with about 5 minutes to play.
James Priestner went the distance in goal for the Blazers.
Kamloops was 0-for-4 on the powerplay while the Giants were 1-for-5.
These teams meet again tonight at ISC - game time is 7:00.
