Tracey and Reynoso named to SL All-Star Game

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Birmingham Barons have had two additional players selected to participate in the Southern League All-Star game on Wednesday, July 13th in Mobile, AL. Starting pitcher Sean Tracey has been selected to replace Nik Lubisich who is unable to participate due to injury and reliever Paulino Reynoso has been selected to replace Barons closer Bobby Jenks who was recalled to the Chicago White Sox. The new All-Star selections bring the Barons total to seven players which ties the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx for most players selected in the Southern League.

Tracey (9-3, 3.43) is currently one of the top Southern League pitchers as he ranks tenth in the league with a 3.43 ERA and is tied for first in wins with nine. In his last outing on July 3rd, Tracey tossed the first complete game of the season for the Barons has he defeated the Montgomery Biscuits 9-1. He currently leads the Barons in starts (17), innings pitched (97) and strikeouts (68). Tracey, 24, was originally drafted in the 8th round of the 2002 June draft. He resides in Upland, CA.

Reynoso, 24, has served as the Barons primary setup man this year and has compiled a 3-2 record with a 2.97 ERA. The hard-throwing right hander is second on the team with four saves and has struck out 29 batters in 33.1 innings over 32 appearances. Reynoso, a member of the White Sox 40-man roster, was originally signed as a free agent in 1998 out of Santiago, DR.
