BIRMINGHAM, AL -Barons third baseman Josh Fields has been named the Southern League Hitter of the Week for June 27- July 3 marking the second straight week a Baron has been awarded the weekly honor.
Fields, 22, had four multi-hit games during the week on his way to winning the BC Hitter of the Week Award. Fields led all Southern League players with six doubles and seven extra-base hits in five games played. The Stillwater, OK native leads the Barons in RBI with 50 and his third on the team with 10 home runs. On the week, he batted .500 (9-for-18) with six doubles, one homer (a grand slam on July 3 versus Montgomery), seven runs scored and eight RBI in the five games.
