Toyota of Plano Grants Top Star Scholarship Awards

FRISCO, TEXAS (MAY 21, 2015)- Toyota of Plano will award scholarships to Frisco and Plano seniors as part of the Toyota of Plano TOP Star Award at tonight's Frisco RoughRiders game against the Midland RockHounds at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

Toyota of Plano provides one senior from Frisco ISD and Plano ISD high schools with a scholarship, as well as recognizes and rewards the teachers who inspired the student both personally and academically. Students from public high schools in both districts submitted applications with an essay about the inspiring teacher from their school. The scholarship committee then selected students and teachers from each high school for this year's TOP Star Award. Each student will receive a one thousand dollar scholarship that they can use at their discretion for pursuing secondary education, and each teacher will receive five hundred dollars.

This year's winners include: Midori Chen (student) and Allison Garrison (teacher), Plano Sr. High School; Jordan Coff (student) and Shea Bowen (teacher), Plano West High School; Lorenzo Alba (student) and Scott McCleneghan (teacher), Plano East High School; Alyssa Flanningan (student) and Dr. Thomas Alinski (teacher), Centennial High School; Melany Vasquez (student) and Holly Green (teacher), Frisco High School; Asia Hurst (student) and Latresea Kennedy (teacher), Lonestar High School.
