Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS (MAY 21, 2015) - Just in time for another Thirsty Thursday, the Frisco RoughRiders are excited to introduce RoughRiders Red Ale, a custom-made beer that is now available to fans at Dr Pepper Ballpark and soon at select outlets throughout Dallas-Fort Worth. RoughRiders Red Ale is crafted by Franconia Brewing Company in McKinney and may be found at the Bull Moose Saloon and the Brewhouse BBQ concession stand on the first base side of the park.
RoughRiders Red Ale is an Irish Red inspired by our national pastime of baseball. It features a reddish-copper color, and is brewed with a blend of different malts and hops to give it the typical balanced flavors and aromas of an Irish Red. RoughRiders Red Ale blends malty sweetness and fruit aromas, and is fermented with an Irish yeast, which gives the brew a nice, dry finish designed to satisfy thirsts during the hot Texas summer. It is an excellent beer to enjoy at the ballpark.
Fans may try RoughRiders Red Ale for themselves tonight when the team completes its eight-game home stand with a 7:05 game against the Midland RockHounds on a Thirsty Thursday. All domestic beers and Dr Pepper products will be just $1 from 6 - 8 p.m. Imports and specialty craft brews, such as RoughRiders Red Ale, will be $2.
RoughRiders Red Ale was specially crafted by Franconia Brewing Company, the oldest brewery in the Metroplex. It is owned by Dennis Wehrmann, who is a fifth-generation German brewmaster. Franconia opened in February 2008 and brews strictly to the "German Beer Purity Law." The Brewery is located in McKinney and is environmentally conscious, from practicing water conservation methods to using renewable energy.
"We are thrilled to partner with Franconia to create this special ale," RoughRiders General Manager Jason Dambach said. "This is a great avenue for us to extend the RoughRiders brand to create new and unique options for our fans. I have a feeling that RoughRiders Red Ale will become one of the more popular selections for our fans at Dr Pepper Ballpark."
