San Antonio Missions News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI - Starter Bryan Rodriguez and two relievers snapped the Hooks' eight-game win streak by tossing the club's league-leading sixth shutout Wednesday night at Whataburger Field.
San Antonio scored during its first turn at bat courtesy of a Hunter Renfroe sacrifice fly to left off right-hander Aaron West (1-3).
The Missions did not get another run until Trea Turner greeted reliever Jandel Gustave in the top of the eighth with a homer to left, his team-leading fifth of the season. Turner (3-for-4) finished a triple short of a cycle.
Rodriguez (3-5) allowed just six hits and one walk, while fanning two over six. After Casey Kelly kept the Hooks off the board over the next two innings, Tayron Guerrero worked a perfect ninth for his third save.
