Rome, GA - The Asheville Tourists defeated the Rome Braves 5-3 Saturday night to win the third game of a four game set at State Mutual Stadium before a near capacity crowd of 4,768.

Rome's Ricardo Sanchez had a rough first inning allowing a run to score on a balk as Asheville took a 1-0 lead. The Tourists add two more runs in the top of the third on an RBI triple by Emerson Jimenez and a fielding error by Jordan Edgerton allowing the second run to cross the plate. In the fourth, Asheville made it a 4-0 score on a sacrifice fly RBI by Luis Jean.

The Braves cracked the scoreboard in the bottom of the inning on a run scoring double by Edgerton and Codey McElroy added an RBI single to make it a 4-2 game. The Tourists added a run in the sixth and Rome a run in the seventh for the 5-3 final.

Asheville's Logan Sawyer (1-0) is credited with the win and Sanchez (0-1) the loss. Jared McCrummen notches his first save.
