LAKEWOOD, N.J. (April 11, 2015) - The Intimidators succumbed to a 5-run fourth inning by the BlueClaws as Lakewood defeated Kannapolis, 6-3, on Saturday at FirstEnergy Park. Lakewood overcame a 3-0 deficit with their big inning, highlighted by Herlis Rodriguez's 3-run home run (1).

BlueClaws starter Tyler Viza (1-0) bounced back from allowing a pair of home runs to put together a quality start, limiting Kannapolis to three runs on seven hits over 6.0 innings to earn the win. He struck out two and walked one.

Kannapolis starter Yelmison Peralta (0-1) opened with three scoreless, hitless innings before getting into trouble in the fourth. He finished with 4.0 innings of work, allowing five runs on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts while taking the loss.

The Intimidators took an early lead when Mason Robbins hit a solo home run (1) in the third inning, and Zach Fish followed suit with a 2-run bomb (1) in the fourth for a 3-0 lead.

In the home half of the fourth, Lakewood sent nine men to the plate. With the bases loaded and one out, Peralta plunked Joel Fisher to bring in a run, and Tim Zier added an RBI-groundout to pull the BlueClaws within one before Rodriguez emptied the bases with his blast to right field.

Brett Bruening tossed 3.0 relief innings for Kannapolis, allowing a run on three hits while striking out a career-high three batters. Peter Tago tossed a perfect eighth inning in his second outing of the season.

The Intimidators conclude this 4-game series against the BlueClaws on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. when RHP Thad Lowry makes his season debut against Lakewood's Ranfi Casimiro. The Intimidators are on a 7-game road trip to open the 2015 season before playing their home opener on Thursday, April 16, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium.
