Tough Twelve Inning Loss for Rome, 3-2

Rome, GA - After 11 scoreless innings, the Augusta GreenJackets posted three runs in the twelfth to get a 3-2 win over the Rome Braves Thursday before a crowd of 2,270.

Both Augusta and Rome starters put in solid efforts on the night. DJ Snelten went six innings, allowed three hits, and struck out nine for the GreenJackets while Jean Carlos Gil went seven innings, also allowing three hits, and striking out three for the Braves.

The game was scoreless until the top of the twelfth inning when Augusta posted three runs. With one out Will Callaway singled and later scored when centerfielder Stephen Gaylor misplayed a base hit by Johneshwy Fargas. Jeremy Sy added a run scoring single and the third run scored on fielding error by Omar Obregon. The Braves scored two in the bottom of the inning when Ozzie Albies tripled and Omar Obregon walked. They both later scored on Bryan De La Rosa's double to make it a 3-2 game. The GreenJackets got Braxton Davidson to strike out to end the game and preserve the 3-2 win.

Dusten Knight (5-1) gets the win for Augusta and Oriel Caicedo (2-2) takes the loss for Rome while Reyes Moronta (6) earns the save.
