
Augusta GreenJackets Prepare to Host Independence Weekend Celebration

AUGUSTA, GA: The Augusta GreenJackets Single "A" affiliate of the 2014 World Champion San Francisco Giants are preparing to host an action packed July Independence Weekend Celebration at Lake Olmstead Stadium. As the Augusta GreenJackets open up they're first homestand of the second half of the 2015 season against the Kannapolis Intimidators (Chicago White Sox) starting Saturday, July 4th at 7:05pm.
"We have gone to great lengths to ensure that every night at Lake Olmstead Stadium will provide a truly unique fan experience," said GreenJackets General Manager Tom Denlinger. "Celebrating our nation's independence with 2 3-D fireworks extravaganzas will create an electric atmosphere at the ballpark, and we are thrilled to provide this experience to the CSRA as a part of our Independence Weekend Celebration."
The festivities kick off with a 4th of July Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza presented by American Family Insurance. The gates will open at 6pm as we host local musician Brent Lundy in concert by the Ahmen Korner Bar and Grill. Pre-game features special happy hour drink pricing from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. The first 1,500 fans will receive 3-D glasses to enjoy a special 3-D fireworks show post-game, the biggest show of the year! The GreenJackets will be sporting special patriotic themed uniforms and will host a jersey off the back auction as a part of the festivities. After the game the lucky winners of the auctioned jerseys will be welcomed on the field to receive their game worn jersey. Post-game we will light the sky with the biggest fireworks show of the year courtesy of American Family Insurance. Then kids 12 and under can run the bases to cap off the evening.
On Sunday, July 5th the GreenJackets will continue the Independence Weekend Celebration with a special Sunday game start time of 7:05pm. Fans are encouraged to come early for a pre-game concert featuring the local band Lokomotion (starting at 5:30pm by the Ahmen Korner Bar and Grill). Pre-game features special happy hour drink pricing from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. The first 1,500 fans will receive 3-D glasses to enjoy the special fireworks show. Every Sunday Junior 'Jackets Kids Club Members get in for FREE at Lake Olmstead Stadium courtesy of Associated Credit Union and Tum-e Yummies. All kids twelve and under who sign up for the Junior 'Jackets Kids Club prior to Sunday, July 5th will get in for FREE. Sign up today at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com/juniorjackets. Post-game the GreenJackets will light the sky with a 3-D fireworks extravaganza! The festivities will be capped off with kids run the bases.
Fans have an opportunity to purchase tickets to a special Independence Weekend Bash featuring a ninety-minute all-you-can-eat buffet located on our SweetWater Draft House.
