
Tortugas and Cardinals Washed out on Friday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Daytona Tortugas' scheduled game on Friday evening against the Palm Beach Cardinals at Jackie Robinson Ballpark has been postponed due to constant rain, lightning, and field conditions
.As a result, both teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, May 28, with the first pitch of game one slated for 5:05 p.m. ET. Both contests will be seven innings in length. There will be a roughly 30-minute break in between the two games
The gates are set to open at 4:00 p.m., one hour before the first pitch. Fans with tickets to Friday's postponed game may redeem them at the Tortugas' box office for any ticket (of equal or lesser value) to a Tortugas home game throughout the remainder of the 2022 regular season. Patrons may also redeem their tickets by calling the 'Tugas at (386) 257-3172.
Arrive in your favorite costume for the twinbill, as we celebrate Halfway to Halloween Night. Saturday will also feature City of New Smyrna Beach Night including special discounted tickets for New Smyrna Beach residents through the appropriate FEVO link.
Friday's scheduled starting pitcher and the No. 7 prospect in the Cincinnati Reds' system per Baseball America - RHP Chase Petty (0-2, 4.05 ERA) - is expected to get the ball for Daytona in game one, while RHP Reynardo Cruz (0-1, 5.40) is slated to take the hill in the nightcap. Palm Beach's scheduled starter for Friday - RHP Bryan Pope (0-0, 0.79) - is projected to get the ball in the lid-lifter. RHP Carlos Guarate (0-3, 4.70) - expects to start the finale.
