
Threshers Fall Short 4-2 against Hammerheads

JUPITER, Fl - The Clearwater Threshers dropped game four of a six-game series with the Jupiter Hammerheads 4-2 in front of 4,143 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on Friday night.
Right-hander Jean Cabrera made his third start of the season for Clearwater, allowing four runs on six hits while walking three and striking out only one in three innings of work.
The Hammerheads (24-19) opened the scoring in the second inning on a solo home run by first baseman Zach Zubia. In the third, Jupiter added three more on RBI singles by Osiris Johnson and Cristhian Rodriguez to make it 4-0.
Left-hander Jordan Fowler worked an impressive four hitless innings on the mound for Clearwater, allowing only one walk and striking out four in four innings to keep it 4-0.
The Threshers (22-20) scratched across their only two runs in the contest on an RBI double by Arturo de Freitas and an RBI single from Leandro Pineda to trim the deficit to 4-2 but couldn't pull any closer.
Clearwater will look to snap it's two-game losing steak against Jupiter on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. Right-hander Andrew Painter is scheduled to start for the visitors, with coverage on the Threshers Broadcasting Network set for 5:50 p.m.
