Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
For the second night in a row, the Jupiter Hammerheads beat the Clearwater Threshers at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. The Hammerheads won Friday's contest by a score of 4-2. Beyond the fireworks the game brought, RDCS also hosted their School's Out Bash with postgame fireworks and their monthly Dog Days of Summer at the ballpark.
The Hammerheads first got on the board in the second inning courtesy of a Zach Zubia solo home run. It was Zubia's second home run in the last three games and his fourth of the season. The solo blast had an exit velocity of 108 MPH.
Jupiter would score three more runs in the third inning. First, it was Osiris Johnson with a 2-RBI single to left field. Johnson would later score from first base on a Cristhian Rodriguez single. The three-run frame would make it a 4-0 game in Jupiter's favor.
Clearwater would respond with a pair of runs in the sixth inning, but it wasn't enough to take the game.
Lefthander Justin Fall got the nod for the Hammerheads and pitched six strong innings. The Arizona State product picked up his second win of the season. The 22-year-old also notched seven strikeouts on the night.
In relief, the Hammerheads turned to Jared Pettitte after Fall. The son of five-time World Series Champion Andy Pettitte pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the Hammerheads with one strikeout. Following Pettitte was Caleb Wurster for Jupiter's bullpen. The southpaw earned his fifth save of the season after working two hitless innings. The Massachusetts native struck out three batters on Friday night.
