AUSTIN, Texas, February 21 - The Austin Toros, the NBA Development League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs, will host Spurs Night on Thursday, February 23 as the team takes on the Fayetteville Patriots at the Austin Convention Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m.

"The Toros are proud to be the NBA Development League affiliate of the World Champion San Antonio Spurs and this is a great opportunity for us to present a special Spurs-themed night for basketball fans throughout the Austin market and to help promote the NBA affiliation system. The Spurs are recognized as one of the premiere franchises in all of professional sports and we are dedicated to be a loyal partner and source of talent for the Spurs while helping them grow the game of basketball throughout the region," stated Toros president Mike Berry.

Before and after the game, fans will have a chance to take pictures with the 2005 Larry O'Brien NBA championship trophy as well as meet the Spurs' Silver Dancers and The Coyote. Along with autograph and photograph opportunities, the Silver Dancers and Coyote will perform during the game.

The San Antonio Spurs celebrated their third NBA championship in seven years with a 4-3 series victory over the Detroit Pistons in the 2005 NBA Finals. Along with the franchises third championship trophy, the Spurs were recently ranked by ESPN as the best franchise in professional sports.

Doors open to the general public at 6 p.m. and parking garages are conveniently located on the corners of 5th & Red River and 2nd & Trinity. The NBA Development League includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Fayetteville Patriots (N.C), Florida Flame (Ft. Myers), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.) and Tulsa 66ers. (Okla.) The Toros are affiliated with the NBA's Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers and Spurs.
