Grizzlies Recall Roberts, Roberson

Memphis, Tennessee-Memphis Grizzlies President of Basketball Operations Jerry West announced today the team has recalled forward Lawrence Roberts and guard Anthony Roberson from the Arkansas RimRockers of the NBA Development League. Both players were assigned to the Grizzlies' D-League affiliate on Feb. 2, 2006.

In seven games (six starts) with the RimRockers, Roberts averaged 20.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.14 steals in 38.4 minutes per game. Originally selected 55th overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2005 Draft, he was acquired by the Grizzlies from Seattle in exchange for two future second round draft picks and cash considerations. Prior to the assignment, Roberts appeared in 24 games with the Grizzlies, averaging 1.5 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.1 assists.

Roberson, originally selected by the Grizzlies as a free agent on Aug. 18, averaged 17.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 28.0 minutes per game with the RimRockers. Prior to assignment, Roberson averaged 1.6 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 10 games with the Grizzlies.
