Arkansas RimRockers News Release

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Renaldo Major hit a jumper with 0.4 seconds remaining on the clock as the Arkansas RimRockers dropped a Saturday night NBA D-League thriller at Alltel Arena to the Dakota Wizards, 115-114.

"We should have had it." said RimRockers Head Coach Andy Stoglin. "We let them off the hook. But we can't let them make layups like that at winning time. We played good enough to win, and should have won. I knew they'd play well tonight, they were embarrassed about last night."

Arkansas fell to a record of 13-33, last in the D-League. Dakota (26-15) kept their top spot in the Eastern Division, vying for home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

The game was close throughout the 4th quarter with 14 lead changes and 8 ties. Wizards forward Quemont Greer, finished with a team high 29 points, missed two free throws with 9.5 seconds left but the RimRockers were unable to corral the rebound, keeping the possession alive for Major's late game heroics.

Arkansas used a strong second quarter showing from Anthony Roberson, 15 points, to pull ahead of the Wizards, 60-55 at the half. The RimRockers were unable to show the same intensity after the break as Dakota reeled off a 20-4 run to pull ahead by 11 with 6:58 remaining in the third quarter. The quarter ended with Dakota leading 88-87.

"We passed it around, and guys weren't selfish. We're still making mistakes on defense. We have to shoot well to win, we make too many mistakes on defense." Stoglin said. "What I hope they get out of this is if we share the ball and concentrate we can beat any team out there. But we have to play the right way. We have to share the ball."

Clay Tucker led all scorers with 32 and 7 assists. Matt Haryasz continued to hit the glass hard collecting 13 rebounds to go along with his 20 points. Roberson finished the night with 26 points, including six 3-pointers.

Dakota had three players with double-digit rebounds, led by Kevin Lyde's 15, as they out rebounded the RimRockers 55-46. Arkansas was dominated in the paint as they were outscored in the paint 74-22.

Arkansas travels to Austin to face off with the Toros next Saturday, while Dakota heads back to Bismarck to host the Albuquerque Thunderbirds.
