Austin Spurs News Release
Austin, TX - Sharp-shooting beyond the arc proved to be too much for the Austin Toros (23-18) who fell to the Maine Red Claws Saturday evening at Cedar Park Center. Austin used a strong fourth quarter to cut the Red Claws lead to one, but a red-hot Maine team eventually pulled away 102-95.
Spurs assignee Aron Baynes led the way for the Toros finishing with 15 points, 11 rebounds and a blocked shot. JaMychal Green continued his double double streak with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jamarr Sanders added in 16 points, five assists and four boards, while the Toros most recent acquisition Lester Hudson contributed 15 points, five rebounds and four assists in his first start for the team.
Five Maine (22-21) players finished the game in double figures guided by forward Micah Downs who led all scorers on the night with 23 points, including five three-pointers. Point-guard Curtis Jerrells finished with 18 points and a game-high 11 assists for the Red Claws.
The Toros head to Springfield followed by Fort Wayne for back to back contests on March 22nd and 23rd. Visit austintoros.com or call the Austin Toros office at 512.236.8333 for ticket information.
