AUSTIN, Texas, December 2, 2012 - Idaho struggled from the field, shooting just 38.5 percent, as they lost the second game of a back-to-back against the Austin Toros 97-82. Sean Evans scored 26 points to lead the Stampede (0-4), also blocking four shots and collecting nine rebounds. Evans made 11-of-17 shots; all other players combined for Idaho shot 31.1 percent from the floor on the night.
Rick Jackson had 18 points (9-9 FG) and 11 rebounds off the bench for the Toros (2-2). Justin Dent mon added 17 points and Tyler Wilkerson had 13 points and seven rebounds. San Antonio Spurs assignments Cory Joseph had 15 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists and Nando De Colo had 14 points.
Durrell Summers scored 18 points for the Stampede, while Justin Holiday added 14 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and two blocks. Jai Lucas was again strong off the bench with 11 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Idaho struggled out of the blocks, trailing by as many as 15 in the first quarter and the Stampede never again re-gained the lead after about halfway through the first quarter. Idaho got to within two points with 4:53 left in the second quarter and only trailed by four at halftime, but the offense again went cold in the third quarter as the road team made just 5-of-20 shots after halftime.
The team opens up the home slate on December 7 vs. Austin at 7 p.m. for a special night, Heroes at the Hardwood presented by Pioneer Federal Credit Union. The team will honor and celebrate active duty and veteran military personnel and their families.
