Austin Spurs News Release
Austin, TX - The Austin Toros increased their win streak to six in front of a sold out crowd at the Austin Convention Center against the L.A. D-Fenders, 115-111.
The Toros jumped out to 31-26 lead at the end of the first quarter, behind Dwayne Jones' 11 points and seven rebounds.
"It's exciting. I'm glad we're headed in the right direction," said Toros Center Jones. "We were playing .500 basketball so it's good to get back in rhythm before playing in a new arena."

The Toros were able to hold their lead with consistency at the line making 14-of-15 (93.3%) free throws in the quarter. The Toros led 55-51 at the half.
Determined to keep the lead, the Toros started the third quarter with an 8-0 run in the first two minutes of the quarter. L.A. fought back midway through the quarter with a 13-4 run. Spurs assignee Malik Hairston had 10 of his 30 points in the quarter. The Toros ended the quarter with an 82-77 lead.
The Toros had their largest lead of the night with 4:19 to go in the fourth, 104-91. The D-Fenders fought back with a 15-4 lead behind Hairston's fellow high school teammate Joe Crawford. With 0:44 to go in the game, Fey helped the D-Fenders come within two, 108-110. Eddie Basden locked in the Toros win making both free throws with 0:17 left.
