D-FENDERS PICK UP JAMES WRIGHT, WAIVE LAWRENCE MCKENZIE
The Los Angeles D-Fenders announced yesterday they have acquired 6-2 guard James Wright. To make room on the roster, the team waived Lawrence McKenzie due to injury. Before joining the D-Fenders, Wright spent 20 games with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, averaging 5.4 points on 52 percent shooting. McKenzie was acquired by the D-Fenders on December 16. He played in 10 games, averaging 4.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists.
JAZZ RECALLS KOUFOS FROM D-LEAGUE
Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor announced that the team has recalled second-year center Kosta Koufos from the Utah Flash of the NBA Development League (D-League). Koufos is expected to be in uniform when the Jazz hosts Sacramento on Friday, January 29, at 7 p.m. In one game with the Flash, Koufos scored 16 points, pulled down seven rebounds and had one assist in 29 minutes against the Maine Red Claws on Monday night.
VIPERS' WILL CONROY SIGNS WITH HOUSTON ROCKETS; ROCKETS ASSIGN JERMAINE TAYLOR TO VIPERS
The Houston Rockets signed guard Will Conroy of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, making him the 10th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2009-10 NBA D-League season. Conroy joins 69 current NBA players with NBA D-League experience. In a related roster move, the Rockets assigned rookie guard Jermaine Taylor to the Vipers. Conroy has appeared in 13 games with the Vipers this season, averaging 13.9 points, 8.4 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals. Taylor was selected in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards and traded to the Rockets on draft night. In 13 games for Houston this season, he is averaging 2.4 points and 5.5 minutes.

Craig Winder scored 23 points and Mike Harris added 18 points and 11 rebounds for Rio Grande Valley.
Former NBA player Alexander Johnson led Sioux Falls with 24 points, while Reggie Williams added 18 points and seven rebounds.
Six Mad Ants reached double figures, led by 18 points from Oliver Lafayette, as Fort Wayne bested Springfield. Rashad Anderson and Rob Kurz each added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Fort Wayne.
Jameson Curry, back with Springfield after a 10-day contract with the L.A. Clippers, had 18 points, eight assists and eight rebounds.
Mark Tyndale led Iowa with 20 points in a win over Tulsa.
Mustafa Shakur dished out a game-high 12 assists for Tulsa.
