Tucson Toros News Release

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Toros dropped an exhibition contest, 6-5, against International Performance Baseball Thursday night. The Toros used the extra game to get a closer look at some of their reserve talent and show off a few of their hidden gems.

Jason Jacome got the start for the Toros where he threw two no-hit innings before giving way to Mark Goodman who threw two more innings of shutout baseball.

Toros bullpen coach, Steve Kelley was next out of the pen and he threw two more quality innings of relief. In his debut with the Toros, Kelley gave up one run, on three hits, and he fanned three IPB batters.

Mark Rosen picked up the loss as he gave up one run, on two hits in the top of the ninth. Rosen also struck out two IPB batters.

Lyndon Poole led off the Toros half of the first inning with a first pitch solo bomb to straight away center. Poole ended the day 2-5 with one runs scored.

Toros' relief pitcher, Chris Luera, made his debut in right field. He went 1-4 at the plate with a leadoff triple in the fifth.

With over twenty years of baseball service, Clubhouse Manager, and former Toros batboy, Chris "Snake" Rasnake made his professional debut in leftfield. Snake was unable to get a hit in his only at bat but he became an instant fan favorite of the 2141 in attendance.

The Toros will take a few days off and host a three day Fantasy Camp at Hi Corbett Field that will run Friday through Sunday. Their next game action will be a three game home stand June 9-11 versus the Chico Outlaws. Game one is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm Tuesday.
