San Ramon, CA. June 4, 2009 - Jose Lima continues to demonstrate that he is ready for serious consideration by a major league organization as he threw the first shutout in the Golden League in 2009 as he shut down the hard-hitting veteran Yuma Scorpions line-up in an 8-0 win on Thursday night. Scattering six hits, he strenghtened throughout the game and was unhittable by the end as he struck out 5 and walked none in the contest.

Lima, raises his record to 1-1 as he has been outstanding in his three starts. Pitching 8 innings each in his first two appearances before tonight's complete game, he has now pitched 25 innings, struck out 12 and walked only 2 and has posted an E.R.A of 1.44 for the season. He finally received some run support from the Armada batters as they only provided him with two runs total in his first two outings.

The intense righty is scheduled to start next at the Long Beach Armada's home opener at Blair Field in the Los Angeles area next Friday, June 12th at 7:05 P.M.
