Last Week
The Marlies were successful in two of their three games this weekend. The Marlies started their weekend in Hamilton where they set out to spoil the Bulldog's home opener. In a back and forth affair Josh Leivo would score in the 3rd period to force overtime, a familiar place for the Marlies. A familiar result also followed as the Marlies overtime success continued when Spencer Abbott was sent in on a breakaway for the winner. Antoine Bibeau was credited with his first professional win. Saturday brought the Marlies back home to Ricoh where they faced the Rochester Americans. Rochester coming off a week's rest capitalized on Toronto's tired legs and dictated the play to win 4-1. Connor Brown scored the lone goal for Toronto, his first goal as a professional. Christopher Gibson was solid for the Marlies despite taking the loss, making 37 stops on 41 shots. Sunday, the Marlies looked to bounce back against the Rockford Ice Hogs which featured former Marlie TJ Brennan. The Marlies again found success in extra time, this time the shootout where Greg McKegg converted the winner. Antoine Bibeau was stellar in his first professional shutout making 33 saves.

Look Ahead
This weekend sees the Marlies welcome their rival, the Hamilton Bulldog's, to the Ricoh for the first of six meetings this season at Ricoh.
This will also be the first 'Guys n Gals' night out where beers will be $ 5 until the end of the second period. Following Friday's match the Marlies head to Utica New York to take on the Utica Comets in a rematch of opening weekend.
