October 12, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies picked up their first win of the 2014-2015 season in overtime against the Utica Comets. After taking the 1-0 lead on a shorthanded goal by Troy Bodie, Toronto surrendered the next two goals, until Viktor Loov tied it up at 13:33 in the third period. The overtime frame was the first taste of the new AHL overtime format which sees the teams play 4 on 4 for the first three minutes then play 3 on 3 for remaining four minutes. This resulted in lots of ice for Viktor Loov who took a neutral ice pass from Spencer Abbott which lead to the game winner.
* Victor Loov scored two goals, his first AHL points.
* Christopher Gibson recorded his first win of the season making 25 saves on 27 shots.
* Shots were 28-27 in favour of Toronto.
* 1st star- Viktor Loov, 2nd star Greg McKegg, 3rd star Troy Bodie
The next Marlies home game is Saturday October 18, 2014 at 3:00pm against the Rochester Americans.
