Game Notes: Worcester looks to keep a perfect record at home in the second half of the season as they host the Quebec Les Capitales. On the mound for the Tornadoes will be righty John Slusarz, who has started the past 2 games since beginning the season as the teams closer. In 15 games so far this season, the 6'4" Connecticut native has an ERA of 3.42 with 10 earned runs allowed in 26 1/3 innings. Since joining the starting rotation, Slusarz has done well, giving up just 4 earned runs in 9 innings of work in the two starts. He has faced the Capitales three times this season, registering a save and a loss while giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs in 4 2/3 innings pitched. Opposing him will New York native Dan Sausville. So far on the season, he has struck out 46 batters while walking 42. Opponents have also collected 69 hits against him in 64 innings pitched, putting his WHIP at 1.422. Sausville has started 3 games against the Tornadoes, going 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA. He has struck out 12 batters while walking 7 and has given up 17 hits in 18 2/3 innings pitched. His best start of the season against Worcester was his first back on May 31st, where he went 6 innings giving up just 2 hits and no runs in a 4-0 victory.
Last Night: Alex Trezza's two run double in the first put the Tornadoes on top 2-0, but Sussex came back with a 6 run 3rd and eventually won the game 12-2 to avoid the series sweep. Chris Farley started the game for Worcester, going 5 innings and giving up 9 runs (8 earned) and 8 hits in a losing effort. Caleb Stewart and Joe Persichina had big nights for the Skyhawks, going a combined 5 for 8 with a double, triple, 3 RBI's, and 4 runs scored. For the Tornadoes, Trezza finished 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's and a double while Danny Santiesteban went 2 for 4 as well with a double. Mike Vicaro got the win for the Skyhawks, giving up 2 earned runs and 3 hits while striking out 9 Tornadoes in 6 innings of work. Reliever Kevin Gunter went the last 2 innings to close the game out, giving up just 2 hits.

Offense: Ryan Crespi leads the team with a .342 batting average and a .417 on base percentage. Chris Colabello is 2nd on the team with a .289 average and leads the team with 37 RBI's. Danny Santiesteban is tied with Colabello for the team lead in home runs with 8 each. Colabello's 5 hit by pitches also ties him with Nick Salotti and Alex Trezza. Trezza leads the team with 17 doubles while Stantrel Smith leads the team with 2 triples and 8 stolen bases.
Pitching: Shawn Gilblair has a team low ERA of 2.10 and leads all reliever with 23 appearances. Albert Ayala is second on the team with 22 appearances and 3 saves. John Kelly leads the team with 61 strkeouts, has a team low batting average against of .196, and has a team low on base percentage against of .252. Gilblair, Ayala, and Rick Asadoorian have all pitched well the past 7 games, combining for no runs allowed and 4 hits against in 11 innings pitched.
