Pittsfield, MA - The Pittsfield Colonials handled the New Jersey Jackals 7-4 at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, New Jersey on Thursday evening.
Colonials' starter Trevor Marcotte (4-3) delivered six plus innings of solid work for the victory, giving-up two runs on six hits, two walks, and four strike-outs.
Pittsfield left fielder Rafael Cabreja (2-for-5, 2 HR, 2 RBI) cranked a pair of homers in the game to provide the pop for Pittsfield. Catcher Scott Knazek (1-for-4, 3B, RBI) tripled and had an RBI while teammates Dan Carte (2-for-4, 2B, RBI) and Danny Bomback (2-for-5, 2B, RBI) each collected RBI doubles in the game.
Jackals' starting pitcher Jayson Miller (1-1) suffered the loss over five and two-thirds innings of work, allowing five runs on six hits and three strike-outs
Kevin Clark (2-for-4, HR), Jovan Rosa (1-for-4, HR), and Jacob Butler (2-for-4, HR) each belted solo homers for New Jersey.
The Colonials will play game two of the four game series with the New Jersey Jackals at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, NJ on Friday night when righty Miguel Flores (3-4) will make the start for Pittsfield against the Jackals' Chris Vasami at 7:05pm (1-0).
