Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
The 2004 5-A Baseball State Champions from La Cueva High School will be honored Friday night by the Albuquerque Isotopes before the scheduled 7:11 PM game vs. Las Vegas. The Bears completed a historic season last Saturday, defeating the Clovis Wildcats 11-0 for their second consecutive 5-A State Title.
The Bears finished the season at 28-0 and ranked #1 in the nation in the Easton High School Baseball Poll. They currently own a state-record 58-game winning streak, 10 shy of the national record. Pitchers James Parr and Jordan Pacheco have both been selected to represent the West Squad during the All-American Game at Isotopes Park on June 7.
Coach Stan McKeever's team will be honored on the field in a pre-game ceremony and will lead the crowd in the singing of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh inning stretch.
