Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
A crowd of 7,983 hungry Albuquerque Isotopes fans definitely took advantage of the team's popular 50-cent Hot Dog Night promotion, devouring 26,276 of the ballpark delicacy tonight, an average of more than three dogs per person.
The throng showed up early and with an appetite for what has become a consistent fan favorite at Isotopes Park.
Members of Ovations Food Service's catering staff worked feverishly throughout the late afternoon to roll the fresh cooked dogs and buns in wrappers in time for tonight's game.
"I knew our hot dogs were tasty, but to see these quantities consumed is testament to just how good they are," said Ovations General Manager Steve Bellacose. "I enjoyed five myself, but I don't that that counts toward the total."
The 'Topes will hold another 50-cent Hot Dog night on June 11 when the Isotopes welcome the Oklahoma RedHawks to Isotopes Park.
The 'Topes' four-game homestand against the New Orleans Zephyrs concludes tomorrow in a special School Day Matinee with first pitch slated for 12:05 PM. The team will be giving away Orbit Growth Charts to the first 3,000 kids courtesy of New Mexico State Parks. Individual game tickets, season tickets, groups, and mini-plans are now on sale at Isotopes Park. For information on All-Star Fiesta ticket plans, season tickets and mini-plans, please call (505) 924-BALL or visit www.albuquerquebaseball.com.
